Brand new to the site, but not to Harleys. Just picked up a new 2011 Merlot Sunglo Street Glide yesterday. Traded in my 2002 CVO Wide Glide. Gonna miss that bike but I am sure once I put a few miles on the SG it will be a distant memory. Won't have the bike for a week or so. Waiting on some goodies to be thrown on and since the dealer is about 1.5 hrs from me I left it there so they can just do it all and I will have one trip back there.
So here is my question you guys. Who have you found to be the best rates on insurance AND a good company to deal with when or if it comes to a claim? I canceled my insurance on the 2002 today and when I went to add the street glide I found out my insurance company want to bend me over with no lube. (Met life) Prior to calling Met Life I had called the toll free number that the dealer gave me in my paperwork packet to get a quote (Harley Davidson Insurance was all the flyer said so I don't know who actually writes it)
Put it this way, HD insurance was $400 LESS a year than the met life policy would be if I had just replaced the 02 with the 11. Told her to pound sand and to cancel the 02 immediately. I'm paying less for full coverage on a 2009 truck than they wanted for the Street Glide...WTF? So anyone know much about this HD Insurance or any other suggestions to check out.
Thanks in advance and looking forward to poking around here.
Update...
Just found an e mail from todays quote. It would be written by Progressive. Don't know much about them other than the lame *** chick on TV....
Howdy from Montana. I deal with Foremost..got a great rate that includes towing and road service free. I'm an AARP member, my rate might be a little cheaper because I'm an ol' foggy.
