Hope you all don't mind me putting my cart (forum) before my horse (bike).
I have transplanted my self from the Midwest and after not having a bike for many moons due to the idiots that look right at you, but still don't see I have found the wide open spaces and acknowledgeable four wheel motorists to make this an ideal state to ride in :~)
There are still fond memories of blasting down dirt roads on my 1974 XR75 and not having reality worries floating through my mind. After a few stints with mid 80's Rice Rockets and a few truly bizarre "rubber sideways" incidents I gave up.
Now I have just about completely decided a shiny new XL1200C has to be in my future. It has more than enough style IMO and power to get me to the places I plan to go. It's gonna take a little time since CA, like the rest of our nation currently does not grant a lot of fiscal opportunities to get ahead.
Hope this has not been TMI and I am thrilled to be in here. Sure I will learn a lot from all you experienced / knowledgeable folks.
Howdy from Montana...you near Victimville, or Barstool??? If things are tight ($$$$), I'd think about Checking LA, Phoenix or Vegas Craig's List...dude, their giving Sportsters away.
