Default effortless stride checking in from Ontario

It would seem that any time I was doing a google search on something or other, I would land at the moco site or this forum. This forum provided some good reading and info, sooooooooooo with my riding season quickly coming to a close, I thought it fair time to sign up.

A little about me: I have always had a fondness for 2 wheels for as long as I can remember, and with no riders in my family, it was not easy broaching this subject. I rode friend's dirt bikes until I was 16 and able to purchase my first ride. I saved up and bought a 74' honda cb550four for 600 buck and set about making my cafe dream(needless to say, the old man wasn't very happylol). Not being able to afford a car, I rode year round. The snow can be a bitch here in Canada. Anyway, several bikes later and with life on top of me like a fat kid on a smarty, and the birth of my daughter, I found myself cage bound and rideless. I began finding myself driving down the highway in a haze, momentarily aroused as bikes would catch up, pass, and then dissapear over a rise in front of me. Anyway, luck would have it that I happened by a group filling up at a gas station while on a ride for dad. There was a family on dressers with there young children in tow. I chatted for a bit with them about there set up, and was convinced this would work. Thus led me to aspirations of having another bike, sooner than later. Wanting a cruiser, and not wanting a knockoff, and having a love of softtails, had me visiting my dealer.bike dealer that is. I spied a 2010 bright red street glide, and figured this was it, a good mix of stripped down, with touring abilities. So after some serious pondering of what I wanted and needed, I finally located a 2008 pearl white, dealer demo and made it mine....There are some issues with the street glide model for sure, but there is no greater feeling than going blind from wind buffeting lol. I typically ride alone (all my friends are dual sporters and go where I wish not to follow) save for the odd stranger that shares a lane here and there. I have only managed about 6000 miles since the end of July, but, those are 6000miles where my soul was content and my mind free, that otherwise would have been put on in a cage. Well, maybe not the entire 6000 as I have taken off for some time in my own head, just because I can..........sorry for the long winded post, obviously I would rather be riding.

ride on friends and enjoy the random souls that will pass through your life.

regards
The effortless stride....
