Default RE: Greetings

So now that I'm realizing there are lot's of folks here on the Harley subject, since I'm a newb, I'll just throw out some topics that have been on my mind for a while.. I'm sure they might be covered in some or many threads so if you point me there I'm sure I'll be greatful for it.

On my '04 Fatboy

1. Considering the challenge of nicer handlebars and hiding the wires, so I'll need longer wiring probably which I gather involves tank removal and some fun work with the connectors. Yay! Which is why I haven't done it yet.

2. Considering a chromed out front end. Including lower sliders. Is that something that I had better leave to the pro's? I do have a friend with a bike shop which would be far less expensive than H-D but I'm not so sure I trust him. I've just not messed with forks before.. About everything else but not forks.

3. I hear talk of issues with the cams on the TC 88 engines. Mine is the Balanced version (softails), stock. Should I be concerned? What should I know? Syn 3 installed at last oil change (3500 miles on it now). I remember even something about some suit settlements from H-D on it.. An article I read once pointed to the earlier TC88's.

Just getting some topics listed as you can see, I'm sure there will be lots I can learn here.

Babs,

Check out the General Tech and oil section, the DIY, do it yourself section, there is a section that covers the model bike you have, also you can check out the general HD chat, of course we have many more area's of topics as well. Browse them all and you will get familiar with the site, it won't take you long to know where to go for info on any question you have, or anything you want to talk about.
