New Rider
I rode dirt bikes about 35 years ago when I was a young lad. Stopped riding when I went off to serve our great nation as a young Naval Aviator. Picked it up again about 3 years ago when my teenage boys didn't think it was cool to spend time with dad any more. Decided I had to do something to get them to spend quality time with dad before they leave home for college. Pulled up Craigslist and found three dirt bikes that would suit our pursuit of the woods rider. BINGO we were hooked and enjoy every minute riding together.
Well the other dads that I rode with began to get street bikes and ride together for some dad time away from the burdens of the responsibility of being a breadwinner. Figured I needed some downtime for myself and figured that riding a JUST DAD ride will help recharge my batteries.
Wanted a Harley all of my life but just couldn't justify getting one until recently. Wife realized I did every thing for the family, work, and community service and that I needed a personal outlet. She supported my decision to get one. I found a 2006 Deluxe that I had to have. I just like that nostalgic look and this one had all the bells and whistles so I bought it back in September.

Unfortunately 2 days after I bought the Deluxe I was out dirt riding and wrecked (on 9/11 no less). Tore up my knee by rupturing my ACL, MCL, and Patellar Tendon. Well I haven't been able to ride for the last few months as the damage to my knee has required extensive surgery and maybe another. She just sits in my garage looking pretty. Hoping that I can get on her in a few weeks as my leg has been slowly getting stronger.
Attached are a few pics of her sitting in the garage. Looking forward to the discussions on this forum, so far I have had a lot of time to spend perusing the forum while my knee heals!
