Generator problems

Hello , I have a 1954 FLE Panhead,its the 50 year anniversity model,and its completly stock. I have oened it for 30 years. My question is about the field coils for a 6 volt generator. On the shunt coil i have 7.8 ohms and the regulating coil i have 3.7 ohms.I also put an ammetter in series with a charged battery and got 1.5 volts and .4 volts. Here is the question,aren't they supposed to be the same in a model 52 set up?

Welcome to the forum..Ya need to post this under the panhead section cause here no one will see your problem..I am sure they can help you..Some smart people over there..
