83 FXSB Shovelhead

I broke a primary belt the other day and have never changed one. Was wondering how to get the big 1and 3/4 nut loose on the motor shaft with out hurting statter. Was told not to use impact. would appreshiate any help.

Welcome to the hood man and I've been doing shovels forever you have to use an impact to remove it no other way . Get a manual ( harley's not Clymers ) and follow the reassembly instructions for that bike setup they are important . Good luck and post in the shovelhead section we live for new shovel **** .
