I joined yesterday to find answers to my Harley questions. And I did. Don't have a Harley currently, but I am in the market for a 2000 or 2001 Heritage Softtail. I had a question about whether the heritage softtail has mm fuel injection, and scotty3 answered it for me. He said that the heritage never had mm fuel injection, but went straight to delphi. That helps me look for a bike with or without fuel injection.
We have sporadic days we can ride here in the winter. Sunday, it was 73 degrees and little wind. That can be a big problem some times here.
I look forward to learning more from the experienced Harley owners. Any wisdom you can share with me is appreciated. I currently own a 2006 Honda VTX 1300c and enjoy it. It is to be picked up by the buyer this Sunday. So, before I die, I want to own a Harely.
I know for sure that (at least) the 2001 softails and up all have the Delphi EFI. That is the one you want. MM, when it works is o.k., but there is little to no aftermarket support for it and most wrenches (especially the dealers) have no idea on how to work on them.
Welcome from south Louisiana. If you haven't had any luck finding your bike locally, check out Sprocketlist.com. You may have to travel to pick it up, but some of the prices are great.
