Rake,Springer length &wheel size??

Rake,Springer length &wheel size??

Hello guys!! Needing some advice on Rake, fork length and wheel size.

I`ve seen a nice custom bike i like the look of, its got stock length down tubes, 38deg rake, its front end is a stock length springer,with a 21" wheel.

Im looking at starting my own project in my Garage{2 kids under 3 and a full time wife living with me} so im prepared to spend a few years in there!!.
im liking the look of the 38 deg rake,but id like to use a 2under springer with a 23" front wheel {18"rear},does anyone see any problems with this?? is rake to much at 38?? will there be any ground clearance issues, frame sitting front end low/high etc?? any info would be great,pictures of project with similar sizes would be awsome,

Wish I could help you, but I haven't done a ground up since the 70's. I had a 40 rake with a five foot springer hardtail. Now it comes down to frame before rake. The only problem with the rake is comfort and maneuvering. What are you starting with? You can't really do a ground up without a builders license anymore. A little more information will help others with your build. It sounds like you were about my age when I did my first build, so maybe comfort isn't a problem for you.
