Greetings members. I'm three years on a Sportster. The thing that finally got me to register on this site in addition to others is I'm thinking about a major financial upheaval. I need to finish paying off the ex-wife. I'm thinking about selling the sporty to do so and refinancing my house. I'd be able to add a payment on a brand new touring bike and still have to come up with $600 less a month. I didn't really try to haggle on the sporty because I figured whats a few hundred one way or the other and I also had a 30 year old yamaha that was pouring oil all over the showroom floor and I was embarrassed and in a hurry to get out of there.
So, Does or Does Not Harley haggle on brand new bikes? I spoke with the credit guy at my local dealer the other day and he sounded like the financing would be no problem.
I inquired about an Electra Glide Classic and he said he would have to trade another local dealer for one and it would take a week. The thing I was wondering is why would I want to wait another week when I could just drive another 20 minutes to some of the other dealers he was referring to?
How important is a dealer relationship to you guys? In three years the only things I've gone in there for is a forward control kit and motor oil

Never have seen a harley dealership haggle, but the prices and incentives differ from dealer to dealer, so check them all out. As far as dealer relations, the dealer supports the harley owners group which is a good quick way to get riding buddies and attending meetings and events gets points put on your account which save you some coin.
