I would like to thank all the members that have been posting technical info. about your bikes. I have been reading that stuff for years. Your opinions and experiences have been valuable to me.
My father had Harleys when I was a kid, so I was influenced early on, back when they really sounded right and left oil spots-Shovelheads with automatic chain oilers.
I bought my first Harley in 2003, a Heritage Softail. Love it, mainly becuase it fits my 6'4" frame. The only issue I ever had with it was the cam chain tensioners. I bought the tools and installed S&S gear drive.
This year we bought a 2012 Road King. VERY nice bike. It only has 65 miles on it, as it has been in the shop for 4 days now. Glad I kept my Softail. I will post about the RK in the touring section.
