Welcome from Virginia , USA ......The all do it and it's normal. they do not have a true PVC system but simple vent blowby to air filter body. So excess oil falls out depending on rpm operation. It drips down. It truly is normal and has nothing to do with oil level or all the wild story's you are going to here on here if you look. Nearly all v-twins do it. Some worst then other and others tend to hide it better then a Harley. My Yamaha had a sealed air box with a plugged hose hanging down to store an oz or two. Last longer then you would let air filter go. You pull the hose plug and drain it and replace filter. Even Yamaha does not mention it in their service manual or operators manual. Hidden in some special service only booklet intended for class room discussion of their mechanics. However as bad as you describe yours it may be return side of oil pump. Look up your oil pump and see if it is two stage like most all Harleys I have dealt with. The slightly larger stage is the scavage side of the retun system. Yours may have wear and is letting too much oil sump in crank case of engine and excess get into vent system and overwhelm it or could also be too much blowby which will do same thing. Compression or leakdown test would show this. Not sure about yours by my TC88 has a drain on crankcase that is used to check sumping. Some people actually think it's the drain but it is not. When you shut off a Harley and pull this plug, you will get about 8 oz maximum or so. if way more it is showing you the return side of the pump is bad. The actually oil tank is separate and has about 3 qts or so. You can see my tank, the big cruisers have it bolted below and separate from the transmission. Look like bottom of engine on them. Yours is well hidden in engine case but is indeed separate from crankcase and yours like all Harley's is considered dry sump. Do not think a Sporth has this seperate check plug due to one piece construction. However hope this helps. When you do discover the exact problem PM me and let me know. thanks

Must have miread. Though you said it was doing it for past 8 year with a greater intensity lately. Mine does in in spurts and seems to be from high speed runs and then sitting and letting the mist drain down and pool. The next run it will spit out 3 or 4 drips on the timing chest. However never enough to run back.. i just wipe the drool from the old girl's chin till the next time she does it.

Hi again all i am still trying to solve earlier issue, i have since discovered, the diaphragm which is for the crank case breather valve near oil filter mount into back of carby, and has a pressure regulator valve near pressure regulating switch, does anyone know how do you check if the diaphragm valve is ok? I feel this could be worn and is letting to much oil /air pass through and hence speawing oil out base of airfilter backing plate??? Anyone know??
