Well I bought my first Motorcycle just 3 weeks back. I've been browsing this forum for last 2 weeks. The info you guys provide is priceless. A little about myself... I'm 18, never rode a motorcycle till I bought it. first week just rode around the neighborhood to get the feel. wasn't too bad learning sense I've been driving a stick shift car. Anyways Just broke 550miles feeling very confortable riding. I dont have any friends with motorcycles so forgive me if i ask silly questions. One quick question when i'm in 5th gear (completly stock 1200 Roadster) at 75mph my RPM's are at like 3500-600ish, seems kinda high; I'm guessing if I do stage 1 the extra HP's will lower RPMs at those speeds? And are the upgrades/mods usually done at the HD dealerships?
Welcome from The People's Republic of New Jersey!
Extra HP will not change your rpm at a given road speed. Only a gear change will do that. Mods are available from the dealer or a zillion after market companies and indy (independant) shops. Keep reading and posting questions and all will become clear, grasshopper.
Welcome from San Diego. There are a ton of great places to ride around here. Check with your local dealer, they all have ride boards and all the local hog chapters have websites and ride lines. Hope to see you out riding!
