First time HD owner. Brought home a 2005 Dyna Super Glide 2 days ago. Love the bike. I have been a Sports rider for a few years and decided I wanted to get a bike that fit my personality so I went with a Harley. Now I just need to figure out how to maintain it. I have lots of reading to do, I hope to find tons of maintenance information here in the forums. If you have any tips please feel free to pass them along. My list so far...
1. Need to get owners manual. (Any suggestions for cheap?)
2. Need to get service manual. (Any suggestions for cheap?)
3. Need to figure out if all the sounds this thing makes is normal. My old Ninja 500 didn't have this many rattles and It wasn't nearly as loud.
4. Wife wants to know why so much heat is hitting her from the exhaust when she is riding with me. (Is this a common issue, heat from exhaust on passenger)
5. Horn mount vibrates at higher rpm.
6. When I apply the front breaks the front forks bounce like I'm pumping the breaks when I'm not.
yeah it's a lot but I'm sure I will be busy. Fantastic forum Thanks.

Try either a clymer manual or HD on e-bay.
Is the bike fuel injected or carb?
Your fork oil should be changed by now, try belray 15w instead of the crap that is in there.
If your not sure about the history I would change all the fluids and get all the services up to date as well as torqueing all the critical fastners. I'm going to change to redline oils, do a search on them.
What kind of exhaust you have? Does it have stage one? Once you open up the exhaust and A/C then you have to rejet (for carb) or tune (for fuel injection) If the bike not tuned correctly it will run about 25 degrees hotter then it has to.
