Hey guys, just got my hands on a '77 Ironhead Sportster, and even though my dad and my neighbor tell me that sportsters are for girls... I've seen some really nice customized ones, and that's really what I'm going for on this one.
Now, don't get me wrong I have strong feelings against chopping the frame so that won't happen. I just want a nice bobber look, we'll see what transpires.
I come here looking for help, I have no clue where to begin sourcing parts. The bike rides great, it looks almost new. But I would much rather have it look like a rat rod bike. A friend of my dad's had this bike in the garage and never used it so I got it for free. Can't beat free.
Hopefully this forum provides me with the knowledge to work on the bike, and the correct/trustworthy places to purchase parts. As well as some interesting conversation.
