I am a new Harley Davidson owner, but I am not new to motorcycle riding. Recently
while visiting a local Harley Davidson dealership I made the acquaintance of a gentleman that gave me the internet address of your forum. After observing the site for two weeks I have concluded that his high regard for your site is well warranted. The technical information that is available is quite impressive. I understand the technical sections but the Off Topic and Harley Davidson Chat is sometimes confusing because of the slang, but if I work with it I can usually figure it out. One of the first things I did after establishing residence here (USA) was buy a Harley Davidson Wide Glide. For those that complain about the cost of the Harley, I can assure you that the prices here are very good. Parts and accessories are also quite reasonable. Anywhere out side the USA the prices have a very dramatic increase. The unmodified Harley does not have the performance of the sport performance motorcycles but it is truly recognized world wide as an American icon and is a very desirable machine. I have owned and ridden many Euro and Japanese motorcycles but none of them give me the pride of ownership that the Harley does. Since this is my introduction and first posting I hope that I have done every thing correctly and that the avatar and signature work. If my future replies miss the point of someone’s posting please inform me, as I said the slang can sometimes be cryptic.

I know exactly what you meant by previously owing other than Harleyand not feeling the pride of ownership, I and my wife rode with all our buddies who owned Harleys, we were riding Metric (Yamaha)and always felt out of touch and something had to be done so being the nice guy I am, sold the wifes yamaha 650 first and headed straight to Harley to purchase a 2005 Deluxe for her, well that sorta made things worse as I still had my custom build 1100 Yamaha v-star, well after returning from Laughlin River run that same year I had had enough.....it had to go and there was no stopping me
