Hello there! Picked up my very first Harley - a 2013 48.
No real motorcycle background to speak of. Been riding around the rock on a hopped up Zuma 125 (that I wrench myself). Took the MSF course and a few weeks later, picked up the 48.
Been finding that the experience on the scoot lends itself pretty well to the Harley. The only thing that I need to get use to is the clutch/shifting part - which seems to improve the more I ride.
Guess I need to ride more. Guess I need to call in sick? lol!
No road trips for you on that small piece of land. I guess you make ride clockwise then counter clockwise. Been there and rode a few circles around Oahu. Great scenery and great weather to ride. Welcome to the forum and enjoy your ride.
mdp - yup, riding in circles! Nice thing about the rock is there's a pretty good variety of roadways (at least, that's what I tell myself!). The only problem is there isn't enough!
