1979 fxe superglide
First off I just want to say hi and thank u to all for this wonderful forum. I have a 79 superglide with a starter problem when u push the starter button it clicks like the battery is dead but when u jump it across the solenoid it turns over fine? Any help where to start?

You have a bad ground, corroded switch or frayed wire. I had a similar issue with an old car. Something is causing too much resistance in the wireing. This section is mostly for just saying Hello. Post your question in the repair or general section for the best answers.

you have a high resistance connection, like they say, check all connections and clean up, check all way back to battery. i have a 76 and harness was so screwed up and corroded i put a new one on and no problems at all
