I've researched the NGK iridium, Harley stock plugs, and Harley Gold , Autolite, etc., etc. Seems to be a plethora of opinions on the "anti-knock" sensor working properly with after market plugs. Findings: More money out of your pocket for a supposed "super plug" alone won't make a difference on your performance or horsepower. Stock Harley plugs work just fine. The Harley Tech replaced my stock plugs with Harley Golds at the 1K maintenance and I truthfully can't tell the difference from the stock plugs that were replaced. One site went so far as to suggest running Harley Golds or Screamin Eagles over stock plugs will cause problems with the anti-knock system. I suspect someone got dropped a lot as a kid! The only advice I've been told repeatedly by dealer parts and service tech buddies is Don't waste your hard earned cash on the Screamin Eagles. The Golds or stock plugs work just as well. Hope this helps someone else from suffering the angst I went through trying to determine if there was going to be a performance difference and was it worth it to spend the extra money. It isn't! The only way to "beef-up" the HP is a combination of high performance air/fuel system' preformance exhaust change and the mandatory "remap" if you're on a budget like me, and can't afford the expensive internal engine changes. Hope this helps.
And don't forget those fancy aftermarket wires that increase your power by 25%. Yellow ones even more.
Its not the size of the wire(although I would prefer a 8.5 over a 7 for heat insulation and it might help with some stray spark) its the amount of ohms per foot. The less ohms per foot the more spark you will have to reach the plug.
