Howdy and congrats on the new ride!!

For shocks, many on here will say to go with JRI's or Ohlins, and yes they are the cream of the crop and as such are the highest price ones too boot.
They also take quite a bit of dialing in to get them just right.

Unfortunately for the front end of the touring bikes, they suck bad too and when you stop abruptly you will find that it will nose dive.

What I did, was to go with Progressive 940's for the rear and Progressive Monotubes for the front. What I paid for both sets of those I would have only gotten 1 set of the JRI's or Ohlins for. So that is my take on the shock thing.

Also for your stock shock thing, try putting in 45-48 pounds of air pressure.
That may help your ride.

Welcome to the site..

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the new X. Nice choice. You may want to ride the X a bit before lowering it. With the 2 up riding, and the saddle bags loaded, you may find it already sits pretty low.

+1 on the 48 Lbs in the shocks, BTW do not use a compressor to fill the shocks.
