Hello, my name is Mark, I just registered into this forum. I currently own a 2005 Electra Glide Satndard with approx. 45,000 miles. My primary reason for registering is to talk with other owners that may have had the same experience as I have had with the timing chain tensioner upgrade. I changed my timing chain tensioners last spring. Following a wonderful trip to Tennessee last summer, the oil pump that came with the upgrade kit decided to fail. It just seems odd to me that after 4,000 miles it suddenly would fail. One unique thing about this was, I had just changed the oil, warmed the engine up after the oil change and new filter. It was the next time I rode it that it failed. I have since rode it another 1,000 miles with no indication of a problem, knock on wood. However, it went 4,000 miles before it went the first time. I am curious to know if there was a defect in the filter that caused it to hydrolock and that is what broke the rotors inside the oil pump?
