Default New Fat Bob

I have ordered, and am patiently waiting for my 2013, denim black Fat Bob. I'm new to Harley Davidson and would like information on changes to the stock bike. The dealer recommends slip on mufflers and I like the K&M air cleaner. Any thoughts?

Go for some Vance and Hines exhaust, screw slip ons. Thats if you want something loud enough to make you eventually go deaf. Which is what some of us seem to like..

Hey, Rick. I just got my Fat Bob a little more than a month ago. I've spent that whole time stressing over exhaust. I finally went with the V&H Sideshots mostly because I trust the quality of V&H and I haven't seen anyone else in the area with them.
Basically it comes down to a matter of taste: style, sound, etc. V&H, Bassani, Rhinehart are good quality manufacturers with many choices, but you're going to pay a price for that quality. Shop around for a while to decide what you like style-wise and what doesn't hurt your wallet too bad.

Don't rush, you will probably regret if you do. Just enjoy your bike for a couple of months and do your homework here. I changed my mind on my exhaust about 4 times before choosing Bassani. It takes time to digest all the info and mesh that with your taste and priorities.

Welcome from Dallas Texas.
Stop by some dealerships to look at and listen to different bikes that have had some mods done to them. I agree that you should wait a couple of months.
I've had my bike about 6 weeks and I change my mind daily as to what I want for exhaust.

The Stage 1 is by far the easiest and Best upgrade an owner can do to his new motorcycle. Stage 1 consists of: Freer flowing exhaust, Freer breathing air intake and a Tuner.

The exhaust can be a full new system or as easy as slip-ons, but I agree with the other poster in taking your time and reading up on different ways to achieve the Stage 1 as it will save you buying an item then later trashing it for another.
