good morning! been following this forum for a while [stumbling on IronMick's posts a lot], and thought i'd finally register. i'm on a metric bike, and put 12,000 miles on it since last july. most of my friends ride older bikes- panhead and shovel. i like ironhead simplicity, sound, and flexibility changing parts to suit personal taste. finding those parts may be an issue? anyway, i've been wrenching with my friends every opportunity i get- primary belt '84 shovel; valve adjustments '51/'53 panheads; total top end work 92 super glide, etc. i ride and wrench on my little 250- everything.
i'm looking at a couple of older bikes because frankly, i'm cold to the new ones. many people try to steer me toward evo over earlier years which i am fond of like ironhead. there's a '74 for sale in my area, he's asking 2900$, and another one for 2500$. i'll post the info in another area, if i may ask questions on these bikes?
look forward to reading more, and making some friends here on the forum.
