Hello wanted to introduce myself to the board. "Long-time listener, first time caller."
My wife and I live in High Point, NC and own a 2013 Dyna Street Bob in Vivid Black and also 1998 Honda Shadow ACE Tourer.
The Dyna is the 2nd Harley-Davidson we have owned. The first was a 2011 883 Superlow. The "Sporty" was my wife's bike and it got her introduced to cruisers after a few years of riding a Honda CBR sport bike. The initial comfort level for longer rides was great but like many Sportster riders you soon want more in terms of power and comfort. After overcoming the "big bikes are hard to handle" fear, my wife has really taken a fondness to the comfort of a our Honda Shadow. She has not looked back at her Sportster since! I will say that the Sporty was an absolute pleasure to own and she is missed in our stable. I do not believe my wife's transition from sportbike to big cruiser would have been possible without that little 883.
The Honda Shadow was my first "cruiser" and after 2 years of ownership I must say that I enjoy that motorcycle more than any I have ever owned. I am a lover of all types of motorcycles but my Honda is hard to beat.
The Dyna is a great bike so-far and is still being "broken in". We traded in the 883 for it on 4/20/13 and have put a "whopping 149 miles" on it in 10 days! Sadly its not for lack of desire to ride, the work hours and weather just have not cooperated with us at all. We have added a few things to the bike this week like rigid mount bags and a quick-release windshield. We are waiting for the S&S Stealth Air Cleaner, V&H Straightshot slip-ons and the SERT to be delivered on Saturday. We are trying to get everything squared away and installed before our ride to the 2013 Spring Rally in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Welcome, I'm sure you've ridden old Greensboro hwy? If not ride it from the west into Hillsboro you'll have a blast. I'm always riding to High Point to get Hot dogs up by the old airport.

Hey Steve! Thanks for your service to our country in the USAF!
There are so many great rides and "eatin' places" around this area its almost a rider's dream. I tell everyone you can ride all day and see some of the most beautiful country on God's earth and never get 30 minutes from home.
If your over in the Greensboro area there is an awesome place on Lee St. /High Point Rd, just past the GSO Coliseum, called "Beef Burger" (Biff Burger for the Old Skoolers). Kinda ghetto but soooo good.
