New guy here from Oklahoma. Been racing cross country sport 4 wheelers for the better portion of my 24 year old life but finally pulled the trigger and bought me a Harley last month.
I went to the dealer and sat on every bike in the dealership. My initial love was the denim black Iron 883 but the sales guys were giving me the you will regret it in 6 months speech. I looked and looked and road multiple different styles but every time my heart went back to the Iron.
I was planning on going in and purchasing a brand new one on a Monday but the Sunday night before I got bored and started browsing Craigslist.
I found a denim black 2010 Iron that was too good of a deal in my mind to pass up. It had 1400 miles on it. V&H 2 into 2 black exhaust, stage 1, Progressive shocks, forward controls, reduced reach seat and a brand new Licks solo bag. I ended up picking it up for $5500 and the seller threw in a brand new flat black Shoei full face helmet that he had no need for.
I took the MSF course and haven't got off the bike since. It's about to turn 3k miles today.
So far I've added passenger pegs and the HD badlander seat for the lady to run around with me from time to time.
I also just ordered Biltwell Keystone bars and new grips.
