If you ever want a good read, there's a guy that toured the US on a Ducati Panigale. He has a 100+ page thread on advrider all about it.

But yeah miles on a sport bike is a good idea until you start creeping up to 200 plus miles then it's just an iron man from there.

Just saw a guy with 6 posts that could send/receive PM's. You have got to edit your settings. Click on "User CP", then on the left side under "Settings and Options" click on "Edit Options". Then under "Messaging and Notification" you'll see "Private Messaging" and a box to click to enable. You'll want to make sure all your other settings are how you want them too.

Live a couple blocks off 50 in Chantilly. Always looking for someone to ride with especially going out towards the mountains.

Welcome neighbor... Softails have "cool factor", and many people ride them lotsa miles one way... I'm old... I'll keep my bagger.
The Road King is capable of living in either world very easily... very comfortable long-distance ride as it sits, and with a slight change of clothes, it's a cruiser..

Maybe just get one of each ?

Yeah there is definitely that cool factor there. Reminds me of that classic look which I guess it's good at since I'm lusting over it. I'm trying to be a little more disciplined and looking at picking up something for the long haul. Something that'll stay with me for years and that i'll pretty much take cross country. And this is where I think the road king will win.

Road King is my choice for size. I had a soft ail that just didn't fit me, but The RK is awesome. Good luck with finding your fit.
