2014 Auto volume control

I have a 2014 Street Glide with a 4.5 Boom Box radio. The auto volume control works some of the time. If it doesn't work I can turn the bike off and restart it and the avc will work. The dealer has installed the radio update and done a factory reset. It still only works part of the time without restarting the bike. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did you get it fixed.
