Howdy
I am a semi-old fart, I enjoy helping to solve problems when I can. I am, or was a MSF instructor until I exposed some under-handed issues. All under the bridge now.
I used to ride a long time ago and my wife didn't (still doesn't) like motorcycles. After 34 years of not riding I decided to get another bike, which was a 1984 Honda V65 Magna. All I could afford at the time. It had been stolen, both wheels bent, brakes hanging off and a hole in the gas tank large enough to put 4 fingers in. Got her running and decided to take the MSF Riders Course because I was unsure of the state testing. Glad I did because I learned a lot that I didn't know. Less than a year later I was instructing and loved it. After about 6 months I became a state examiner for the MC riders testing. It is amazing to see people that have ridden over 40 years that still can't make a turn or stop using both brakes without dropping their bikes.
Anyway, that is another life now. I have been around the block a few times. Retired Military, 3 combat zones, 3 heart attacks, 3 open heart surgeries and 2 small strokes, but nothing serious so far. That coupled with being a total disabled veteran has put a bit of different outlook on life... I have learned to appreciate it a bit more and realize how easily it can be lost. I have been blessed many times more than I deserve.
I hope to contribute on the forum from time-to-time when I can. Other times I will be sitting on the side-lines observing.
I own a 07' FXDWG (Wide Glide). Was in the process of selling it, then regret. The buyer is a good friend but still owes me a good chunk of change on it but I am not backing out on the deal. Just bought a 2011 Super Glide that is bent up a bit but should have her running before too long. Might even have a few questions from the board members as I go along.
I just wanted to poke my head in and say Hi to all. Oh, I also want to say that I don't think it makes a difference what kind of bike you ride as long as you feel the wind in your face... that is what it is all about.
Ride Safely,
