Hi everyone, looks like a great site. A little about myself. Now and then I like to tinker on cars and what not. Mostly the older mussel cars. Tinkering on a bike never crossed my mind. About 26 years ago my girlfriend and I were riding around and my brothers Yamaha 750 when I made a turn and must caught some sand or something. Long story short, After we stopped rolling across the asphalt (bike flipping, flipping, flipping). I saw two things, my girlfriends shoe, and the bike in a big ball of fire. I realize I was unhurt. I got up and turned around and my girlfriend was already on her feet. Don't know how, but we both escaped with minor scrapes and bruises. The bike was a total loss. Never thought about a bike since.
Been searching for another project to tinker with and that's what brings me here. Last week I came across a 1973 ironhead sportster xlh. It's pretty much tore down (avatar photo) Went and looked at it and made a deal. I will be bring her home next weekend. Looking forward to the build.
