Default speedo conversion.

Hey everyone.
I have a 1990 sportster 883. I,m installing a set of fatboy centerline wheels on it. Going from 19" front wheel to 16". Tring to figure out best way to convert speedo so it will read correctly. Any ideas. I have a fatbob dash on it with 5" speedo. was thinking about trying speedo drive and speedo from fatboy. but i dont know?

First I would find the height of a 16 inch wheel with tire vs a 19 inch with tire. Also there might be a different speedometer ratio used in each one, like 2:1 for example.

yes the ratio for the sporty is 2:1 and the fatboy is 2240:60. just need to see if speedo drive from fatboy will fit on sporty. if so it should work. Theyre both 3/4 axles. prob just need some different spacers. gonna check with local dealerships parts guy. hes pretty good with swapping parts from model to model from what ive been told.

I would check the spacers and the speedometer drive to see if you can fit them. The one other thing is on a big twin there is a hole in the backbone to feed the speedometer through. You can probably just run it to the side of the sportster backbone.
