Default tyres

i have bought a hd trike and the tyres look brand new but are old,hard and cracked between the treads.it has a rigid rear end.ive ordered new ones 255/45/15. im told new tyres will give me a softer ride.i tend to agree .any thoughts. thanks all

Not quite the same thing, but I recently changed all the tyres on my van for new ones. Darned thing is transformed! So if you have bought good quality tyres you should certainly feel the difference.

they are michelin and hard to get. at $725 each theyd want to make a difference.i went for a ride the other week and didnt even notice 1 was flat.youve given me confidence.ill let you know the outcome they wont be fitted untill next week as they have to come from SA.thank you

Do you mean South Africa or South Australia?! It's amazing how tyre technology is improving, so if your old tyres are indeed old, you may get not only the benefit of new tyres, but also of newer technology and materials. Let us know how your trike rides when in its new shoes.

They do indeed sound darned expensive. Probably worth changing the wheels next time, to get a rim size that works with more readily available tyres!

i can get 225/45/15 for the same rims for $185 ea
