Default Tires

If I wanted to install a wider tire on my stock 17 SGS do I have to change the rim to accommodate the wider tire?
I really like the wider tire as it looks bad a - - .with keeping the stock look.

I thing you can keep the rim looks great with a wider tire on it.

That's a very open question! You really should investigate a bit further before buying anything. The largest you can get away with is probably a 200mm, without making mods. As your bike is a Touring model I recommend you visit the Touring section, where you will find umpteen posts on doing this and plenty of members who have done it.
