I'm trying to find out if a 200/55/18 will properly fit on my 2011 CVO StreetGlide which currently has a 180/55/18,just trying to get a little more traction ?
Whether it will fit inside the fender or not I'm not sure, but the difference in width is pretty significant. The stock 180 tire is 7.1" wide and the 200 tire is 7.9" wide. It will also lower your speedo reading by 2.1 mph @ 60 mph.
If you still want to go with the wider tire, you should probably go with a 200/50r18. It's much closer to the same circumference and only a .2 mph difference in speedo reading.
Hi
My first Harley at 55, which I did it years ago.
got s 2018 FXFBS white Fat Bob
Done a few modification but am looking at playing with the suspension rise the back lower the forks in the tripple clamps just to get a bit more ground clearance but my question I'm seeking an answer to is
Has anyone changed the front tyre from a 150/80/16 to a 130/90/16?
in theory this should make the steering quicker and lighter.
Anyway has anyone done this and should I do it or just learn to ride what I have?
