For mileage: Dunlop American Elite or Elite 4, Michelin Commander II
For grip/handling: Avon Cobra Chrome, Pirelli Night Dragon
For low cost: Shinko 777, Kenda Cataclysm

FWIW, I run Avon Cobras/Cobra Chromes on my Harleys and Pirelli Diablo Corsa 2's on my Ducati...

Avon's since the 80's, the new Chrome series looks to be the bomb for HD's.

Anyone running the Metzler Cruiseteks? Time for new rubber on my 2012 Street Bob and I am looking at those. Not a lot of reviews yet, but they sound great.

That is a brand new tire and will be a bit before people have miles on them for a good review...

Agree entirely, been using them on my Harleys since the '70s, as well as my Buell.

Avon Cobras for sure, not sold on their new Cobra Chrome though. I occasionally ride in the rain and that center portion being more of a slick doesn't look to good for wet weather. If only a sunshine rider they will be just fine but I need them for all weather conditions so Ill stick to my regular Cobras until I have no choice haha

but either way, tire selection depends on your riding style. If more of a straight shot, long haul rider the harder compound tires like the Dunlops will be just fine and give you the most mileage. If you like to hit the corners harder than most and want to make sure the tires wont be an issue go with the Avons or Pirelli

Just put Michelin Scorcher "32"s on my fatbob. I like them so far.
