Avon Cobras for sure, not sold on their new Cobra Chrome though. I occasionally ride in the rain and that center portion being more of a slick doesn't look to good for wet weather. If only a sunshine rider they will be just fine but I need them for all weather conditions so Ill stick to my regular Cobras until I have no choice haha
but either way, tire selection depends on your riding style. If more of a straight shot, long haul rider the harder compound tires like the Dunlops will be just fine and give you the most mileage. If you like to hit the corners harder than most and want to make sure the tires wont be an issue go with the Avons or Pirelli
Figure those tires were developed in a country famous for being wet and for roads a lot in here would freak out over, I'll take those odds any day. Dunno about you guys but my life is anything but straight lines, mileage became a distant second care a long time ago.

Wise words, although Avon Tyres are owned by Cooper Tires and, funnily enough, Avon's biggest market is the USA. Best of all worlds!
FWIW, I like Metzeler 888's. There was a previous version the 880, but they were problematic and replaced with the 888's.
I had 880s on my 09, got almost 20, 000 miles out of them and they where problem free..... I got my 017 (both bikes are eGlides) and ran the stock tires off, then switched up to 888s. Not that many miles on them yet, but a significantly better tire than the stock ones. The 017 handles way better than the 09, but it is a different bike, so I assume that has a lot to do with it.
Old thread but looking for new comments about the "new" Avon Cobra Chrome tires. I am leaning towards the Cobras, and the Chrome version is about all you can find, at least factory fresh.
Thanks in advance

The Chrome is indeed the 'new' Cobra. I'm still using 'old' ones, but will happily swap over when the next replacements are due. I've used Avons for decades and am sure we'll both be happy with them!
