Default Is this wheel usable?

Rear wheel purchased off of eBay for my 07 Road King. Is this flange repairable? It is the belt side of the wheel.

Actually it was damaged in shipment and the guy already refunded my money. There are still honest people out there. Thanks for the info. Now I need to find an 02-08 rear wagon wheel.

well, i beg to differ. first, that is NOT a load bearing surface, it is basically an indexing flange. the load bearing is on the fasteners and besides, probably at least 80% of the flange is good. it is NOT in the bearing OD seating area. personally, i would ride it, but your call.

I don't see why it can't be used. As long as the sprocket or rotor sits flush you'll be good to go. If it were mine I would just clean it up with a file as needed and run it.

I agree that it is salvageable .... clean it up, install new bearings and use new bolts for rotor an pulley

That wheel was not damaged in shipment. You have no way of knowing what hidden damage it has. Look closer at it . Good that they gave you money back. look around you can buy them in good shape cheap.

I wish I could find one cheap. Fronts are a dime a dozen but rears are like gold on ebay.

Assuming no other damage, I would have no qualms about using that wheel.

There was recent post about converting front wheels to rear by drilling & tapping the existing 5/16ths holes to 7/16ths & 3/8ths

Call Pinwall Cycles in Massillon OH to see if they have a rear ?
