I just ordered and received new OEM Dunlop D402 tires for my 2003 Heritage Classic. While checking the dates on the tires (to make sure they were actually new), I noticed that the rear tire was made in France! Do what??? 😮 These things have always been made for Harley Davidson by Dunlop in Buffalo, New York. So I called the factory in Buffalo and they verified with me that they were so backlogged on tire manufacturing and rubber supplies here, that their sister company in France was making tires also. I also found out that Dunlop is now owned by Sumitomo Rubber Company. He assured me that they are of the same quality as the American manufactured tires, but I'm not so sure. Does anyone know if the American Elites are made in France too? Thanks!
