I'm sure it's been asked but has anyone put 2 different brand tires on there bike? I have an 06 RK I have a Commander2 on the rear with only a few hundred miles on it . the front is also a C2 but it's almost time to change it and the size I need is out of stock every place I've looked. If you were to put a different tire on the front what would it be ?
You can run bias ply in the front, radial in the rear. (Just not the other way around.)
On my Kaw, the rear tire will last only 4,000 miles (Dunlop GPR300.) I commute, (not race,) so I have a Metzeler going on the back while leaving the Dunlop on the front. I'm not worried about it.
why? something w/ tire hardness/softness and grip? or? thanks.
Radial flexes more than bias. That's OK in the rear with imperceptible over steer, vs what would be the start of a 'washout' with the radial in the front
I love my American elites. After all the different makes in brands I’ve tried throughout the years, I’m done looking for the best one. This particular American elite made only in America grips better in the rain than most tires do on dry pavement. Safety first………
