Default 23in wheel

Hey fellas, I'm new here and need help. I want to put a 23in wheel on my 99 fxst and been researching on the amount of rake needed to do the job. Some say 4 degree, some say 6 and others say just lower the front 1.5 to 2 in. Has anyone done this, and how did you do it?

when you add inches, the front will come up. yes you can put shorter springs in your sliders but you will also effect the ride quality. you can replace them with a dropped aftermarket but $$$$$.
raking would probable be the lowest cost but would would need to calculated the adjustment needed. remember that anything you do will effect the handling of the machine. hydraulic are more forgiving than mechanical.

I was looking at a complete front end that's 2in under with no rake. Would that be good or too low?
I figured I can always raise it up 1in if need be.
