Default Valve stems
Recently a friend had a valve stem fail while on the highway. How often do you guys replace them? He had an aftermarket angled type. Could that have been the factor? Kinda scary 😧

How did the valve stem fail? O-ring leak? Stem breakage? Schrader valve leaking?

I just installed an aftermarket TPMS internal valve stem system. I plan to replace the o-rings every tire change.

I replaced my rubber valve stems every other tire change.

Good aftermarket angled type, or cheap aftermarket? I've got bridgeports on both of my bikes and one set is over a decade old. Good ones don't fail.

Rubber ones I think every time. But I got metal ones that are over 20 years old. Considered converting to that

Should go to monitors soni check more often

Angled stem face much more centrifugal force than vertical stems do. Don't go cheap here.
(I recall the 'dice' valve caps that were sold awhile back wrecking the rubber stems they were attached to. Rubber stems can't handle that.)

On my recent rip out west I had my second failure of an angled valve stem on the rear, loaded 2 up both times. No more angled stems for me.

The internal TPMS system that I installed (Sykik) only offered straight stems.
I would have expected the angled stems to be a better option, certainly for ease of use.
I am curious about which component has failed; O-ring, plunger, etc.

they cracked at the rubber.I agree that the cent.force would cause that on cheap ones.

I went to metal t-stems with FOBO mounted on the top, on several bikes, with many miles…never had an issue.
