Default New rear rim problems

Hi all
Tried searching to see if I could find the answer to my problem but couldn’t seem to locate anything.
I have a 2014 Heritage and have bought some new rims. The front rim 21 x 3.5 has gone on perfectly. The rear rim 16 x 3.5 has a hub that is much narrower than the stock rim.
I have measured the difference and it appears to be 7/8 of an inch narrower overall.
I have found spacers for the rotor and pulley but don’t know what to do with the axle.
Do I need axle spacers and what happens with the ABS?
Any help would be much appreciated I’m hoping that I don’t need to buy another wheel.
TIA

Well if you are sure of the 7/8" figure, get two spacers that are 7/16" longer than the two you have currently. Or get two 7/16 spacers and stack them on your old ones .4375"

Thanks Jake24lt, forgive my lack of knowledge but is it a case of just adding spacers, will the ABS be affected in any way?

As long as the outside diameter of the wheel is fairly close it shouldn't be an issue.. If there is a great size difference you may have to get a different ABS bearing. The sensor location remains in the same spot, closest to the bearing.

Update on this, (if anyone cares) After removing the bearings (which turned out to be a chore in itself) I found a local machine shop who was able to mill out the hub's center hole. I had to remove the tire which had already been mounted, to accomodate his milling machine. He did an awesome job and it looked factory when done. I am finding that this bike has gremlins, but slowly getting rid of them one at a time. I did learn from the 3rd party seller that the bike had sat for several years due to the health of the actual owner. Just like empty houses; vehicles that aren't ridden create their own issues. Now have the bike at a dealer trying to figure out why the front brakes lock up randomly. Praying its something simple and they dont have to replace the entire braking system. Thanks again for the feedback, it was helpful.

If the locking up is caused by the ABS, I suggest to get a new ABS bearing.

best, niv
