I wouldn't want to get 20 years out of tire, I wish I was doing 20k every summer though. If you are not getting 20k out of a front tire, you must ride a lot harder than I do.
This was your OP:
Noticed my front tire was on backwards for over 20k miles.
I put it on bike based on valve stem side. Dealer put the tire on the wheel wrong .
At this point not sure if I'll flip it or just replace it. Doubled in price in 20 years.
This implies that 20 years ago, you went to the dealer, and had a new tire put on, and you think they put the damn thing on backwards.

It implies the price of tires has gone up in 20 years. Anyone else wrote that and the old duffs would be talking about when a buck was silver. I was looking at reciept for $347. Front tires used to be around $130 20 years ago. Those same old duffs could then say I remember when it was ....
I entered the price in my spreadsheet so I can look back on it, like an old duff, hopefully some day.

I put the wheel on the bike with the valve stem facing the correct way. The dealer put tire on the wheel, so that in the orientation, the tire was spinning wrong direction, but wheel was spinning correct. Factory mounted rotors wrong, which the more I think about, I probably won't bother with.
My newest bike has valve stem in middle, but manual says to point valve stem to right.
