Solid disc rear wheel
I thought of doing some changes to my ’98 FXDWG.
Had it for 8 years now.
Not doing anything irreversible to it!
Just something to make it mine.
I bought a solid disc rear wheel from an early TC Fatboy with the same wheel bearing as my EVO.
It was straight but a bit corroded.
The asking price of $25 was nothing to argue about.
My mate owns a lathe so up with the wheel and of we whent with the work.
The quality of the wheel shows that who ever made them for H-D did not make any fine work.
The lip were not 100% circular as can be seen in the above pictures.
It is now!
The surface in the central part were badly corroded, but now it has been carefully reworked but not polished.
Both sides as they are now.
Before polishing.
That will NOT be done when the wheel is on the Lathe.
There are parts on a Lathe that do not agree with the ultra small particles from polishing…
Hand polishing will be carried out later and installation on the bike will happen late october when riding season is just about done.
I will put up some pictures on the forum after the installation been done.
