I ordered a front American Elite(not 2) when this was announced. Just ordered a rear after viewing the comparison pics in the other thread. The AE2s might be perfectly fine, but I’ll stay with the devil I know.

I put a thousand miles on it so far . And 40 or 50 in the rain . I will say Im liking this tire as much as the Metzler Marathon 880s . It ride is comfortable and very smooth.

The Ohio based Cooper Tire and Rubber Company who own Avon Tyres closed their UK manufacturing facility in December 2022. The Avon factory was the last one producing motorcycle tires in the UK.
I had a pair of Avon Cobra Chrome tires fitted on my Iron 883 just before I sold it, the Avon's are far superior to the stock Michelin Scorcher II tires.
I haven't used Dunlop tires for forty years when I had a pair of Dunlop Arrowmax tires fitted to the wheels of my old Laverda 1200 triple.

Once in while I go on the grass or dirt road . But this tire has the tread where its need it , when you need it the most . And so far its an excellent tire .
I have almost 50 years of riding and well over 200,000 mile of putting time in the seat . The only complaint for this tire was that its pricey.
