anyone recognize these wheels? trying to polish but it's acting like a clear coated wheel. i polish paint, stainless and aluminum regularly .
all they have on them is Sturgis

searched and found nothing . not sure if they are still in business. got them cleaned up but i believe they are clear coated. which i hate. maybe next winter i will break them down and blast the clear coat off so i can polish them right.
i use several types of media. sand isn't one of them. i have a large blast cabinet with glass beads in it. l also use acrylic on fiberglass. I've done my own blasting for many years because of damaged parts. i just sold my blasting business. hated to see my 85cfm rig go but too old to wrangle that hose anymore.
i've been building customs and restoring cars for almost 50 years so i've seen about every disaster out there. citric acid is also a good choice.
but thanks for the advice and concern. i agree sand would destroy the wheels.
