Faulty (2001 Fat Boy)? When I squeeze the brake lever the brake light does not come on. It does come on with the foot petal. The plunger on the switch seems recessed, how far does the plunger suppose to come out when the lever is squeezed, doesn't seem to have at most 1/8 inch of travel right now? I disassembled the housing and tapped on the switch with a screwdriver a few times, tried to take some small needle nose plyers and pull it out but it would not pull out any further. I did notice when I was putting the housing back together the brake light came on once when I squeezed the level but never could repeat it regardless of how I manipulated the housing, didn't have a chance to see the switch at the time.
Questions:
How far is the plunger suppose to come out in the normal closed position with the lever squeezed, intuition tells me further than it is?
Can you buy the switches separate and splice them in?
Can you spray lubicant at the plunger face and possibly release it?
Any other recommendations for T/Sing before I call it a failed switch?
Harley front brake switches are pretty delicate little pieces. It sounds like it took a dump and needs to be replaced. I don't have the part # but it can't be that expensive.
