Default universal brake lines

A couple of questions:

I need to replace the front brake line assembly on my 2002 Roadking but no one in the area has one in stock. I've heard of universal brake line kits...can one of these be used without any problems if I can find one quick?
Or, since I have dual front brakes and only one line is leaking, can I somehow crimp it or cap it off and get away with that for awhile?

And, can anyone tell me in detail the right way to bleed the air out of the lines?

Thanks
