I have a 2004 Dyna with duel front brakes. I put two sets of Lyndall pads on the front because the HD pads were making noise. I also put a set on the rear. I have around 350 miles on the new ones. I took the bike out today after sitting for two weeks. The front pads are squealing like a bitch when applying the brakes. The rear ones are not. i did everything Lyndall said on their web site. I cleaned the calipers, pistons and greased all the pins. Everything was ok till today.
When I got home I cleaned the rotors with brake clean. I took it for a ride around the block, by the time I got home the pads were squealing again. I then sanded down the rotors and wiped them down with brake clean. Took the same trip around the block and the pads were squealing again.
I guess I will have to take the wheel off and check the calipers.
I read a few Threads here, sometimes Lyndall pads are worse than the HD ones. The bike does stop better but can't handle the LOUD squeal when stopping the bike.
Chamfer the leading edge of the pads. Gives them a smooth come together. Thats the side where the wheel roles into the pads first.
As said by 95-- the Permatex material helps with vibration wich is what you are hearing.
I have also used 600 -1000 emery cloth on the rotors to smooth them out.
