Default What socket type/size is needed ?

About to change rear brake pads on my 08 Softail.

What type/size socket do I need for the different 12 pt. bolts I'm dealing with ?

Shop manual is clear about procedure & torque but nothing said about
exactly what bolt type or sizes I'm dealing with...

Clearly I have to get a set of 12 pt. sockets (all only have 6 pt. sockets sets)
but are they SAE or Metric ?

Pad pin.............?
Mounting bolt.....?
Slider pin...........?

Can someone help ?

The pad pins are 1/4" 12pt. I think the mounting bolts are 10mm. This is a test for my memory so if Im wrong don't flame me.

Default I see ..........

Wonder why the hell HD uses Fuc&?**&?!*%'n metric ?????????
So I gess I should get a smal set of both Metric & SAE 12 pt sockets...

(Must admit it's kind of funny to find both Metric & SAE sizes on
same brake Pad/Caliper set...........)

Why the hell an all American Cie. if any...... uses a combination of metric
& SAE mesures.????????

Maybe HD figures this will discourage average Joe to do basic maitenance
in his home garage & head down to local HD dealer at first occasion ....?
Just saying................

Don't get me wrong, I spend my fair share of $$ at local shop, but part of
regular maitenance is part of the fun.............

Do what I did. Go buy the one 12pt socket you need for the job. Couple bucks at sears. You don't need the whole set if you already have the rest of the tools you need.
