Default Brake Bleeding Issues

I just changed bars on my 05 FLHT. I installed a longer upper brake hose along with the bars. I now have no brakes in front?? I topped off the brake reservoir, squeeze the lever a couple of time. Crack open one of the bleeder screws and get no air bubbles. I've used a Mityvac to suck fluid through the system so I know the fluid is flowing, but not matter what I do, I get no resistance on the brake lever. Any ideas? I read the service manual, the manual for the Mityvac and searched around on here and it seems I'm doing it right, but I can't get any pressure to build.

A side note, when connecting the Mityvac, I never get any vacuum pressure?? I was able to pump fluid into the container using the brake lever. Do I have a leak in the system somewhere?? Should I be trying to bleed both at the same time, or just one at a time?

Thanks!

I remember having this problem twice on two different bikes. I got it working by close the screw while squeezing the MityVac in order to get as much vacuum as possible reserved in MityVac, then quickly open the breeder screw to let the MityVac suck the fluid through quickly. I guess the speed of the flow is helping, but I still don't know why it worked.

I wasn't able to get any vacuum pressure when I tried this. I'll give it a try again tonight, maybe I have a bad pump?

Either way, I think I have the brakes bled, but I get no resistance on the lever. Other ideas?

Sounds like the piston assembly in your master cylinder is bypassing. There are a couple of seal in there that might have a tear that is letting the piston move but allowing it to push the fluid to the caliper. Fairly simple repair and the dealer should carry a rebuild kit if it's stock.

I found it was a faulty new upper brake hose. I got it replaced and all is well! Thanks!
